| I Started in
Poodles in Victoria 1959 with the purchase of a black
miniature bitch MOULIN MARIE CLAIR. I became entranced
with the breed and decided to show and breed from then
on.

My first Champion
was CH MONTMARNE MANDINGO (DARIUS) who I bought from
Bette Euston in Moe Victoria. "Darius" was my first Best
in Show winner, which was The Poodle Club of Victoria in
1964. Darius went on to win 2 royal challenges at both
Melbourne and Adelaide shows, he also won 5 Best in Show
All Breeds, and was the sire of 26
Champions.

My next star was
the beautiful silver imported Miniature
bitch CH JALAHALLI
FRENCHES SILVER BUBBLES
who took me to the
heights in those days 1966 to 1968, in which she won 12
Best in Shows all breeds and 11 Best Opposite in Shows.
Her finest being Best Opposite in Show at Melbourne Royal
1968. She was the Dam of 5 Champions and died much to
early at the age eight.
In 1970 I went overseas to the USA and UK and fell in love with
the Mini Dog called TRANCHANT PHILESMAR PABLO in the UK. I
could not buy him so I bought a bitch AUST CH VORTON YVETTE
(NETTA). I mated her to him and bought her back with me. The
resulting litter of 3 produced 2 champion who in turn produced
for other breeders.

I also bought back
from England a Black Miniature male CH TRANCHANT SWAGMAN
(Swaggie) who was a Best in Show winner and a Silver Toy
CH SILCRESTA SILVER SQUIB (Impy) who was the sire of many
Champions.
While I was in the
U.S I fell in love with Standard Poodles so when I came
home in 1972 and moved to NSW I was determined to get one
for myself. He was cream and his name was CH MILLBROOK
SUPERSTAR (J.C) and was a Best in Show winner as well as
the sire of 5 Champions.

One of my greatest thrills as a
breeder was at the Melbourne Dog Club in December 1972
judged by the renowned poodle handler and Judge FRANK
SABELLA (USA). I won bitch challenge from the puppy class
with JEUNESSE JUSTA JOIE owned by John Edwards, then
Puppy in group. Louise Searle won dog challenge with CH
JEUNESSE JUST NICE, then Best in Group. We both went on
to win BEST PUPPY IN SHOW and BEST IN SHOW under Virgil
Johnson (USA)
I went on with
Miniatures until in 1988 then I thought that toys might
be easier for me to show and present. My new toy was a
white male CH SAVARIN SURE THING
(Hamish).

Then I bought the
black toy bitch AUST CH SAUVAGE SENSATIONAL, who became
the basis of my Toy Poodle breeding and was the dam of 5
Champions and granddam of 4.

I also bought
CH LEZEST STORMYS DELIGHT and he won BIS at the Toy
Poodles Society show under Lady Potter
AM.

I then purchased CH
JOIEDEVIVRE BARBADOS and he went on to
do very well in the ring and he was a group
winner. His daughter
was the granddaughter of Brittany
(AUST CH DEBROYD
RAVISHING RUBY) who herself
is the dam of 2 Champions already.

Then I bred a white male from a Hamish
daughter I have. His name is
CH JEUNESSE A LIFE OF RILEY and he is by U.S & AUST CH
BERNIS BLACK MAGIC.

My next champion
was a home bred male CH JEUNESSE DIRTY HARRY from
Ruby by CH SOLNES IT HAD TO HAPPEN (imp
NWY).
I am slowing down
with my breeding and only breeding a couple of litters a
year now. I have
recently titled my latest stud dog CH SAUVAGE
SOLITARY MAN. I have bred 52
Champions over 40 years and at the rate of breeding now,
I might make 60 with good luck.
